About Jeanne Kierman Fischer
Jeanne Kierman Fischer, Artist Teacher of Piano at the Shepherd School of Music, has made a professional specialty of contemporary American piano repertoire. She is a graduate of Oberlin, New England Conservatory and the New York Dalcroze School, and studied with William Masselos, Victor Rosenbaum and Menachem Pressler, among others. As a chamber musician, she appears regularly at festivals such as Tanglewood, DaCamera of Houston, Mohawk Trail and Juneau Jazz and Classics. In partnership with Norman Fischer, Ms. Kierman Fischer (as the Fischer Duo) has toured as Artistic Ambassador for the U.S. Information Agency in South America & South Africa; and the duo celebrated its 45th season in 2016 with concerts and residencies in Bejing, China, Leipzig, Germany and Singapore, as well as the release of 4 CDs of the complete works of Beethoven. At Rice, Ms. Kierman teaches a small class of Undergraduate Piano Majors, Collaborative Piano, Chamber Music, Piano Literature and Dalcroze Eurhythmics.
